While speaking to party workers in Gorakhpur, his home constituency, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that significant progress has been made in the law and order situation in the state. He said that the trend will continue in the future as well, as the government works to target criminals and anti-social elements. “We had urged earlier too, people who do not respect the law can leave UP and who don’t will be dealt strictly with,” said Adityanath.
The CM also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that he has done a marvelous job at putting an end to VIP culture in the country. He was referring to the recent decision taken by the Union government, wherein ministers, politicians and bureaucrats are no longer allowed to keep the red beacons atop their cars. In recent times, the red flashing beacon had become a status symbol for many politicians and bureaucrats.
Adityanath has also warned Hindu groups to stay away from aggressive vigilantism. He said that everything should be done as per legal procedures and no one is allowed to take law in their hands, not even cow protection groups.
