“If Netaji (Mulayam Singh) asked me for resignation I would have given it,” said Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav to Samajwadi Party workers in Lucknow on Monday.
Akhilesh Yadav further said that if his father had aske him to stepped down he would had immediately done it.
“I was hurt when Amar Singh said that by November Akhilesh will not be CM in UP. Ramgopal ji didn’t say that,” added Akhilesh.
The young chief minister got emotional and broke into tears at the meeting attended by party legislators, ministers and MPs at party headquarters and said, “Let Netaji decide who will be the CM of UP. I will follow his orders. Mere Pita he mere guru hai (My father is my guide).”
He add, “I have worked for the people of the state and not for self. Some are trying to create choas in our family.”
During the meeting he also added that some anti-party elements are spreading rumors that “I am planning to break away and create a new party.”
Mulayam Singh Yadav during the meeting said, “Instead of fighting our weaknesses we are fighting with ourselves. If you can’t face criticism you can’t be a leader.”
Mulayam Singh further added all members of the party are very dear to him. Everyone has contributed for the rise of the party and working for the people.
