Part of a Scottish Government partnership, the aim of the bus tours is to provide free fun activities for parents and carers and their children. The bus will be open to all local parents and families.
The bus will be hosting free storytelling and rhythm sessions and a range of play and activity sessions for children and their parents, to promote and raise awareness of the benefits of positive parental engagement with simple free activities and resources which parents can take home, with the aim that they build upon the ideas and activities sessions at home with their children.
The activities are open to parents and children aged 0-4 on a drop-in and informal basis.
Michelle McCabe, Centre Manager at The Avenue, said: “Why not join in the fun and bring your little ones along for free songs, stories and play sessions? Perfect for pre-school children, the free play bus makes a lovely day out for you and your child.
Downstairs, kids love the games and activities while, on the top deck, there’s a special Bookbug story time to give your child the giggles or take them on a little adventure. But mostly the play bus aims to help children have fun, enjoy learning and get more out of life.
“The play bus is completely free – and there may even be a little gift for your child when you leave the bus – so get on board! It’s a great way to help your child grow up smart, happy and at ease with the world.”
The Play Talk Read bus will be in the ASDA car park at The Avenue on Tuesday 27th January between 10am – 1pm and 2pm – 4pm.
The Avenue Shopping Centre, owned by NewRiver Retail, offers shoppers a warm and welcoming shopping experience conveniently located on the outskirts of Glasgow city centre.
