Lok Sabha GST Bill debate – Who Said What

Centre’s Finance Minister Arun Jaitley started GST bill debate today in the Lok Sabha. He said that GST bill is different than other bills as it is about creating a process in which Centre and state will participate together.

This bill will benefit everyone therefore it is avant-garde step.

All together two dozen meetings were taken, to make GST bill recommendation based process.

New civic system will run the GST.

GST Council is supported by states and center with equal zest.

Compensation Cess under GST safeguards on no extra burden while keeping tax responsibility at current level.

GST will pave corruption-free India.

GST Council will consult with state governments and Centre together.

GST means transparency and accountability. Being online process, human interference is void.


Veerappa Moily, Minister of corporate affairs quoted

The current language of GST law shows major flaw in GST Council between states and Centre.

No regional freedom will exist.

Excise free zones are not precise.

Purposes may be decent however it will result into tax falsehood and disorder between states and Centre.
