On 6th April, Kerala governor retained an order of making the Malayalam language as mandatory for all schools in Kerala. In absence of following the order passed by Governor, the school will see the legal action taken by the government. The order will be pertinent to all government and private schools.
Kerala Chief Minister in cabinet meeting said that the Malayalam language must develop to extreme level so that books linked to science and technologies are printed and speak in Malayalam.
Chief Minister also claimed that in certain schools in Kerala, speaking in the Malayalam language is against the guidelines.
As per him, these types of rules cannot be followed and against the principal of such school Rs 5000 fine was ordered.
