Today GST Council cleared the undecided procedures. Kerala Finance Minister Thomas Isaac said that the discussion on rules was held and now the rules have been finished and the transition rules have been also now cleared. Now the GST will be rolled out on 1st July and everyone is agreed on the same.
The GST will be as 5, 12, 18 and 28 per cent product to product and service to service.
Arun Jaitley, Finance Minister headed the GST Council meeting in which the decision on the tax rate on gold, textiles, and footwear and others to be made.
When the Kerala Finance Minister Thomas Isaac’s statement expresses the agreement of all states over GST roll out date as 1st July, however, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had told that GST will not be rolled out in the West Bengal at its current method.
Yesterday Mamta Banerjee said West Bengal government will not back the GST scheme in its current scheme.
Also, she said that she would pen to Finance Minister to bring changes in the GST provision which is good for all societies. However, Bengal Finance Minister Amit Mitra attended the 15th GST meeting.
