The news of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visiting a village in Deoria to meet the family of a martyred BSF jawan prompted the local administration to spruce up the village. The roads were repaired, the entire village was decked up, open drains were covered, and the almost dysfunctional health center was upgraded overnight. CM Yogi is known for taking strict action against underperforming officials, which is why the local administration in Deoria was taking no chances. The local administration even decked up the house of the martyred BSF jawan by putting curtains, sofas, air-conditioner, carpets, chairs, etc.
Yogi Adityanath stayed with the family of the martyred jawan for around 25 minutes. But, not long after he left, everything that was installed by the local administration was removed. This made the family feel upset and humiliated. Speaking about the incident, the brother of the martyred BSF jawan said that they felt humiliated after what had happened.
CM Yogi has given a check of Rs 6 lakh to the family and promised a government job to one family member. CM Yogi has also announced that a ‘shaheed smarak’ (martyr’s memorial) and a girls’ inter college will be built in the village to honor the brave heart.
It may be recalled that Head Constable Prem Sagar was killed in Poonch on May 1 and the Pakistani army had mutilated his body.
