Former Chief Minister and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo,Mayawati, has demanded Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav’s resignation after spurt rise in rape incidents in the state.
“The government has failed to control crime and prevent heinous crimes against women. The law machinery is deteriorating with every passing day in the state,” said the former chief minister.
Over the weekend three incidents of heinous crime against women were reported in different part of the incident.
The BSP supremo has also demanded a “personal explanation” from the CM if “he would be able to return the lost honour of the victims.”
On Saturday, mother and daughter were gang-raped by a gang of road-robbers in front of family members in UP’s Bulandshahr. Male members of the duo victims were brutally beaten by the road-robbers on protesting.
Raj Babbar, UP Congress Committee chief, stated that Bulandshahr rape incident is a black spot in Uttar Pradesh’s history.
He said that the state is in complete chaos under the Akhilesh Yadav regime.
Meanwhile UP government has suspended Bulandshahr SSP, city CP and other junior officers for negligence in duty.
