Metro Services Halt Across Bengaluru As Staff Protests Arrests

Services of the Namma Metro in Bengaluru have been temporarily halted over protests by metro officials against the mishandling and arrest of six employees on Thursday.

Metro officials alleged that on Thursday morning, employees at a station in the city were attacked by Karnataka policemen posted for security.

Four out of the six have been released while two Metro officials continue to be behind the bars.

Two constables of the Karnataka State Industrial Security Forces were also arrested on the complaint of a Metro staffer.

The staffers are demanding the release of their two colleagues.

A meeting between KSISF and Namma Metro officials took place today morning but the talks fell flat.

Nearly 4 lakh commuters were in for a rude shock today morning when they found all stations closed.
