In a major win for the security forces in Kashmir, a young militant named Danish Ahmed has surrendered before the Handwara police. The young militant is a Kashmiri youth who was radicalized by terror groups operating in Kashmir. He was last seen in a video footage at the funeral of militant Sabzar Bhat, who was killed by security forces last month. It may be recalled that the security forces in Kashmir have been consistently eliminating terrorists or arresting them. Most of the top militant leaders of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen have now been eliminated by security forces in Kashmir. With the surrender of Danish Ahmed, it’s a new win for the security forces. The Hizb-ul-Mujahideen terrorists who have been eliminated include Burhan Wani, Sabzar Bhat, Adil Khande, Neesar Pandit, Affaq Bhat, Anees, Ishfaq Dar, Waseem Mallah, and Wasim Shah.
In Danish Ahmed’s case, the Indian Army requested his parents to counsel their son and ask him to surrender. The Army assured that he would be treated fairly after surrender. The suggestion worked and Danish surrendered today before the Handwara police and the Rashtriya Rifles. After his surrender, Danish admitted that he was instigated by terror groups on social media and other applications. He said that he was just given orders to create trouble in Kashmir. He said that he soon became disillusioned with the gun culture and that there were many like him who were experiencing the same.
