Hours after Border Security Forces (BSF) gunned down at least 15 Pakistani soldiers in retaliatory action, militants crossed the international border killed an Indian Army jawan and then mutilated his body before escaping to Pakistan occupied Kashmir near the line of control in Jammu and Kashmir.
The army has vowed retribution saying, “The incident will be responded appropriately.”
Indian army officials said that one militant was gunned downed in the encounter. The militants were provided with cover fire from the Pakistani troopers.
“One of our jawans was killed in an encounter with the militants. The jawans body was mutilated by the militants who managed to cross the borders under Pakistani Army’s cover fire,” said an Indian Army spokesperson to the media.
The army stated that the act of mutilating a fallen jawan’s body reflects the barbarism pervading in officials and unofficial organisations in Pakistan.
Pakistan has violated the ceasefire more than 30 times after the surgical strike carried out by the Indian Army last month. Since Thursday Rajouri, Samba, Abdullia, RS Pura and Suchetgarh is witnessing heaving firing including mortar shelling from Pakistani side.
Two civilians have been killed, more than dozen of people have suffered injuries due to shelling and several cattle have been killed.
