MIM president Asaduddin Owaisi welcomed the NIA special court verdict on Dilsukhnagar bomb blast case but accused the National Investigation Agency (NIA) of targeting particular community.
“Court verdict on Dilshuknagar bomb blast case must be accepted and terrorists should be punished,” said Owaisi talking to media at his residence.
NIA special court in Hyderabad on Monday had sentenced death penalty to five Indian Muhajideen activists including cofounder Yasin Bhatkal for 2013 blast in which 18 persons were killed.
Owaisi further added that the NIA should take uniform approach in terror cases irrespective of the communities accused belong from.
“I am not doubting the NIA’s investigation in the Dilsukhnagar bomb blast case. They have done a commendable job,” said the MIM president.
However he questioned the NIA on completing investigating the Dilshukhnagar case in just three years and not shown the similar involvement with the investigation of bomb blasts at Ajmer and Malegaon blasts.
He also asked why the NIA has failed to file an appeal against the bail granted to Swami Aseemanand, a accuse in Ajmer bomb blast.
“Why did the NIA told the court that it had no objection in releasing Sadhvi Pragya Thakur in the Ajmer bomb blast cases,” asked Owaisi.
