Momo King, the Malaysian restaurant marks its footprint in India

  • First Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) launched in Gurgaon
  • Additional 130 to open in next 3 years

New Delhi, 5th November, 2018:Bringing the authentic taste of Momos, the famous Malaysianrestaurant chain recentlyexpanded its presence in India with its firstQuick Service Restaurant (QSR)in Gurgaon at the ground floor of Bestech Chambers, Sushant Lok-1 with much fanfare.The Stand Alone Medium Outlet (700 sq.ft) with a 24 seater witnessed a grand opening ceremony by the famousEntrepreneur and Philanthropist, Mr. Varun Chaudhary, Executive director, CG Corp Globalwaslisted in Forbes magazine as the first billionaire from Nepal.

With an aim to offer franchise and partnership globally, this fast growing restaurant plans to open 120 stores around the globe in the next three years. The fast growing chain are already registered in six major markets which includes US, Europe, Philippines’, Australia, Bangladesh and Malaysia market. The QSR is also looking at strategic expansions in Kuala Lumpur including locations such as  Twin Towers, an iconic landmark in Malaysia.

Expressing his delight over the launch of its first store in India, Shyam Thakur, Founder and CEO,Momo King said, “We are excited about our first restaurant inGurgaon, as we plan to grow in leaps and bounds pan- India. We have witnessed an important supply gap in the market as we see a momo stall in every street corner, without having an authentic taste. We believe consumers should get access to great food choices and experience the authentic taste of momos at a reasonable price points.”

Wishing the brand all the success at their flagship store in Gurgaon, India, Mr. Varun Chaudhary, Executive director, CG Corp Global, said, “We have grown up eating momos and It gives me immense pleasure to inaugurate the eventas the brand brings the authentic taste and variety of Nepali momos to India.”

 He further added, “The brand will reach new heights globally as I completely believe in the differentiated experience they will bring along for consumers across the world.

The brand also had other major announcements including their plans for opening up a factory and hiring more than 1000 people this year end in Surabaya, Indonesia and Okala, Delhi.  The chain is already experiencing significant growth with its newest franchised restaurant launch also in Satya Niketan. This expansion is part of the brand’s overall franchise development plans for this year, with a goal of opening three additional restaurants by the end of 2018 in Bangalore, Pune and Mumbai.
