If it’s Eid, it’s got to be a bonanza for Salman’s fans. Continuing that trend this year too is Sultan, in which Salman attempts to woo the audience with the role of a persistent, headstrong fighter who will never back down and not stop at anything till he achieves his goal. Yes, we have heard this story many times before, but it appears that repetitions do not matter when it comes to Salman Khan and his movies. The theme may be similar to that of popular movies such as Rocky Balboa, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, etc., but the storyline has new flavors, which makes it an interesting watch.

The movie catches up on the life of Sultan (Salman khan), a wrestler from Haryana who falls head over heels for wrestling champion Aarfa (Anushka Sharma). But Aarfa is not willing to dance around with Sultan that easy, which prompts Sultan to take upon the challenge of winning the gold medal in the Olympics. However, after winning the gold medal, Sultan sinks deep in arrogance, which destroys his relationship with Aarfa. Sultan wins over the world with the gold medal, but loses Aarfa, who meant the world to him. However, life gives Sultan a second chance when he is recommended for a martial arts championship. Thereon, it’s a tough road that Sultan walks to become a winner once again, as he continues to fight his personal and professional insecurities.

Among the various Salman Khan movies, Sultan is certainly different because this is the first time you get to see some reality such as the huge middle-aged paunch that Salman’s character develops while he lives an inconspicuous, lonely life after his separation with Aarfa. This may be a shocker to some of Salman’s fans, but one aspect of maturity is accepting reality and learning to deal with it. So, in that sense, Sultan may be the next level in the evolution of Salman as an actor and his movies. Anushka has also done a good job and the same goes for other actors in the movie.

Go for Sultan to experience how life can pull you down anytime and understand why you need to bounce back and fight again. There’s plenty of action and adrenalin-pumping moments to keep you entertained all throughout.
