The xXx franchisee has always been a favorite with action movie fans and this time too it doesn’t disappoint with the Return of Xander Cage. The franchisee and the lead actor Xander Cage (Vin Diesel), both of whom have become synonymous with gravity-defying stunts and edge-of-the-seat entertainment, have come together yet again to push the action to the max. The movie offers a plethora of adrenalin-pumping action sequences, powered by high-speed bike chases, gun fu, extreme sports, and of course jumping off planes without a parachute. Watching the movie is a pleasure for action movie fans since there’s always something more than what they could have imagined.

The prospect of advanced technology getting into wrong hands is the primary ingredient used in the movie. There’s a device called Pandora’s Box, which has the capability to unleash global destruction by making use of geostationary satellites. When the xXx program is threatened by this device, Xander Cage (Vin Diesel) is called in from his self-imposed exile and tasked with finding the weapon and neutralizing it. This time around, Cage chooses a team of thrill-seekers to locate the weapon. In doing so, they come in direct confrontation with the formidable Xiang (Donnie Yen) and his team of ruthless mercenaries.

Xander Cage has got a lot more fans in India with this latest release, as there’s Deepika Padukone making her Hollywood debut. She has got a prominent role in the movie, which she has played with considerable ease and confidence. There’s no attempt to deliver a forced American accent, which is a good thing to have from an Indian perspective. A forced American accent by Deepika, who exudes and epitomizes ‘desi’ in its true sense, would have appeared quite amusing for the Indian audience.

The movie creates its own alternate reality, so do not expect things like thoughtful cinema. Here, the laws of physics are meant to be broken, so be prepared for the extraordinary if you planning to be thrilled by xXx: Return of Xander Cage.
