Hon. Minister of State (IC) for Sports and Youth Affairs, Col.  Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore inaugurated the facility in Badnagar

Reaffirming its commitment to providing clean drinking water, Nestlé India in association with the Government of Rajasthan inaugurated clean drinking water facilities in Badnagar. A total of 12 water purification units have been installed in Manjri Kala, Chandoli, Bhaisroardgarh, Umand, Abdulpur, Angai, Langra, Panchodi, Panota, Sirohi, Badnagar and Khadin since 2017, as a part of Nestlé India’s clean drinking water project in the primary health centers of rural Rajasthan. The projects are being implemented by Nestlé India’s NGO partner Piramal Sarvajal, who will be constructing single phase bore-wells and water tanks with water filtration and delivery mechanism.

Commenting on the partnership, Hon. Minister of State (IC) for Sports and Youth Affairs, Col.  Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, said, “Access to clean drinking water is a human right. The government aims to build drinking water facilities to ensure a healthy future for all. The partnership with Nestlé India will strengthen our efforts towards addressing the issue of clean water sources in vulnerable communities across Rajasthan. I am hopeful that this association will help make a difference to the lives of people.”

Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Sanjay Khajuria, Senior Vice President Corporate Affairs, Nestlé India said, “At Nestlé our endeavour is to help improve the lives of people living in communities where we do business. We are extremely happy and honoured to be working with the Government of Rajasthan for catering to the drinking water needs of people in the state. We believe such projects are critical, as they not only help in providing clean drinking water but also create awareness amongst communities on the benefits of the consumption of clean drinking water.”

To strengthen support to this cause, Nestlé India has constructed 250 water tanks across seven states benefitting more than 1,40,000 students under Nestlé’s Clean Drinking Water Initiative. Nestlé India has also partnered with Piramal Sarvajal to set up purification systems for projects at various locations to ensure water quality and safe drinking water.
