nhow won another prize to add to its collection! As of this Monday nhow can claim having the Best Hotel Design of 2014. Several hotels and restaurants were awarded during the yearly ENTREE Hospitality and Style Awards ceremony, last Monday 1st of December at Studio 21 in Hilversum. The other three nominees for the ‘Best Hotel Design’ Award were the Amsterdam hotels Waldorf Astoria, Hotel De Hallen, and the Brooklyn Hotel.
For the ‘Best Hotel Design’ Award, the jury paid attention to originality, appearance, and functionality of the interior design of the nominated hotels. These criteria counted for both the public spaces, as well as the hotel rooms. The other nominees were Waldorf Astoria, Hotel De Hallen, and the Brooklyn Hotel, whom are all located in Amsterdam. The judges chose Rotterdam to be the winner, because of the overwhelming architecture of the building, which was directive for the overal experience of the hotel.
‘The overwheling architecture of the building proves to be an essential part of the hoteldesign, and was therefore decisive regarding the granting of this award. The building is directive in the overal experience of the hotel, which has mapped itself on the design map of the Netherlands. A player with international aspirations and a modest interior’. Report of the jury – ENTREE Hospitality & Style Awards.
After winning the ‘Best Hotel Bar of Rotterdam 2014’ award and three ‘magnets’ for the ‘This is nhow’- campaign, nhow Rotterdam is proud to add yet another prize to its collection; the ‘Best Hotel Design of 2014’ award.
