The Parliament was informed today that Niti Aayog will soon be finalizing the 3-year action plan and the 15-year vision document for the country. The country’s premier think tank will also be presenting a 7-year strategy document. However, the agency has failed to finalize key policy documents of Modi government by March 31, which was set as the deadline. In a written reply to Rajya Sabha, minister of state (independent charge) of Planning Rao Inderjit Singh said, “The three-year action plan along with 7-year strategy and 15 year vision document is at an advanced stage of finalization.”
The vision document will present a 15-year perspective, up to the year 2030. The 7-year strategy document will enumerate ways to achieve various goals and the 3-year action plan will aim at overall development of India. The Parliament was also informed that these documents have not been prepared in silos. Rather, inputs were taken from various entities such as leading economists, business experts, scientists, farmers, defense and security experts, technology sector and various states and union territories.
