Arvind Panagariya resigned few minutes ago as the vice chairman of NITI Aayog. He is expected to be going back to the USA to resume his earlier profession of Teaching. As per the resignation letter that was given by Panagariya, the last date of his work would be 31st of August 2017.
Having worked for World Bank, International Monetary Fund, World Trade Organisation, and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, he was widely criticised for his strict approach on various cases that were brought forth before the forum and has given the verdict without budging to any political pressure. Panagariya has also been credited with working for Asian Development Bank(ADB) as a Chief Economist.
