The Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today claimed that north east states of India have been neglected for decades and said that north east is a holy and rich place of the nation.
He also said that the development of the north east states is as essential as other states to achieve the economic development of the nation. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh also criticized the previous UPA government for neglecting the region for decades.
Rajnath Singh was addressing a function to mark the 31st Arunachal Pradesh statehood day.
He also claimed that NDA government in 2001 created the Ministry of Department of North Eastern Region as an independent body, which led to development of the region. Current government’s ‘Act East Policy’ to fast track development will help the region to grow fast and develop inclusively.
BJP had formed the government in Arunachal Pradesh last year after 33, out of 43 Peoples’ Party of Arunachal (PPA) MLAs led by Chief Minister Pema Khandu, joined the party.
