It was a live wire political drama in Tamilnadu yesterday. The State which is been in the news constantly ever since the demise of Jayalalithaa did not spare even the Sunday. With initial news of Jaya’s niece Deepa denied entering the Poes Garden residence which saw her staging a protest and demanding an explanation from her brother and Sasikala’s family who also said later that she would file a police complaint for being manhandled, another news emerged soon after about the OPS faction dissolving the merger committee, a committee that was formed to facilitate the merger of EPS and OPS faction, which has sent the loyal AIADMK fans into a utter shock. The party workers are not sure as to what would be the next step.
On the other hand, TTV Dinakaran who got released on bail had seen a rising support of more than 30 MLA’s and on the other hand EPS has been trying hard to pacify his loyalists to retain his position as CM.
The seven member committee which was formed by OPS which included members lie Natham Viswanathan, Manoj Pandian, Maitreyan, Ma Foi Pandiarajan among others now stands dissolved.
“EPS camp hasn’t met our two key demands: to expel Sasikala and Dinakaran. They’ve not sought CBI probe into Jayalalithaa’s death,” said Rajya Sabha lawmaker V Maitreyan.
The committee which was formed on 21st April has not even met the EPS faction committee once due to the differences and demands especially the one like probe into Jayalalithaa’s death which has not been agreed by the EPS faction though the other demand of keeping the Sasikala’s family out of the party has been agreed.
