Pakistan has pulled up a surprising yet a convincing win against the powerful England team upsetting the home crowd. The win has helped them to go to the Finals. Earlier, England batted first. The top order did not fail to score some quick runs.
The first wicket fell at 34 with Alex Hales in 13 runs. The partnership between Jonathan Bairstow and Joe Root added another 46 runs to the third wicket before Bairstow was dismissed for 43. Joseph Root fell when the score was 128 when he was in 46.
After this, the wickets started falling in regular intervals. Eoin Morgan and Benjamin Stokes scored 33 and 34 respectively. The lower order batsmen did not shine with 4 of them getting dismissed for a single digit score. England was all out in 49.5 overs with a score of 211.
For Pakistan Hasan Ali took 3 wickets. Junaid Khan and Rumman Khan took 2 wickets each. Pakistan’s fielding was noteworthy yesterday as they effected couple of run outs too.
With a target of 212 to win, Pakistan started its innings. The first & second wicket partnership scored a worthy 118 runs when Fakhar Zaman was dismissed for 57 runs. The third wicket partnership added another 55 runs when Azhar Ali got out for 76 runs. After that, no wickets fell with Mohammad Azam and Mohammad Hafeez scored 38 and 31 runs. The team has reached the score comfortably in 37.1 overs and the team scored 215 run reaching the finals comfortably which will be held on 18th June against the team which would win in the match between India and Bangladesh.
