The opposition parties have continued their scaling attack on the government over the various issues in the ongoing parliament session. Today the opposition jointly attacked the government on demonetization, climbing NPAs of banks (non performing assets) and farmers issues as well as reduction of financial support under various welfare schemes for poors in the union budget.
Samajwadi Party member Naresh Agarwal targetted Jaitley for meeting with capitalists but not the farmers before finalising the budget. He claimed that the farmers are not getting minimum support price today. Referring to massive victory of BJP in Uttar Pradesh, he said “it was the PM’s victory and not that of the BJP.”
In an apparent reference to Yogi Adityanath’s elevation as Chief Minister of the state, Mr. Agarwal said “we had seen the political image, we have to see the administrative image. We have given six months time to the new government before commenting on its performance.”
On NPA he referred to a statement of State Bank of India CMD that farmers’ loans cannot be waived off and the situation will further deteriorate if they are.
The continued discussion on the union budget 2017 saw one of the BJP members Shankarbhai Bhegad reverting on the allegations leveled by the opposition parties and claimed that adequate monetary support was provided for welfare schemes such as MGNREGA and Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. He also thanked Arun Jaitley for electrification plan and drinking water plan of the government. He also referred to the utility of cow dung and urine for organic farming and appealed for protection of cows.
