The Patna police has arrested 5 including 2 who are medical students yesterday in connection with NEET question paper leak. The arrest happened at 8 AM just 2 hours before the commencement of NEET 2017. The arrest included a deputy centre superintendent too.
NEET is the entrance examination conducted throughout India for Medical and Dental admissions.
The students who were arrested were identified as Shubham Mandal of Patna Medical College and Hospital and Shiv Kumar of of Nalanda Medical College and Hospital.
Avinash Chandra Dubey was the deputy centre superintendent with Christ Church School and the other two members are Avinash Roushan and Sanjay Yadav.
Patna SSP Manu Maharaaj said apart from Dubey, others were arrested from the Bypass road under Patrakar Nagar police station area in the city. They tried to board the vehicle carrying the question papers which were placed inside a sealed trunk.
“Pliers, screw drivers, hand-held rivet and several other apparatus were seized from the four,” the SSP said He also said that the police conducted raids to arrest the kingpin and other members of the gang. Four cellphones marked A, B, C, D, to match the four different sets of question papers, were also seized.
