In a shocking revelation at the Metro station, a woman was nabbed by CISF personal while passing through the security checkup. The incident happened at Chandni Chowk metro station on the evening of the Republic Day celebrations
Due to the tight security as well as the sensitivity of upcoming republic day celebrations, the woman was interrogated by a joint investigation team of Delhi Police and CISF. However the team are still not able to identify the source of the weapon.
It was reported that the women has informed the CISF team that she had bought the music system from a vendor in Tis Hazari area. She was not aware about the presence of the gun inside the system.
The Delhi Police has registered Arms Act case against the women and its unidentified source. The investigators have also indicated that the woman might be correct. However, the road-side seller of that music system remained untraced till late Friday.
The arrested woman is from North Delhi’s Mukundpur area. The CCTV footages are being scanned from the area for clues.
The CISF team said that “The weapon was detected by some CISF personnel when a bag containing the music system was being passed through the X-ray machine. On detecting something suspicious inside the music system, it was opened to reveal a pistol.”
