Recently, the third-tier Chinese manufacturers have seriously taken a great interest in the production of secure smartphones. The explanation here is simple: it is almost the only remaining niche, which has not yet come serious companies, and especially Xiaomi. Therefore, small firms try not to lose time, releasing one anti-smartphone after another.
Poptel is completely unknown in our market, but the site says that it was formed back in 2006. To date, she has been producing various high-tech products, including mobile phones, commissioned by other firms; now produces smartphones under its own brand.P9000 Max is the first and so far the only Poptel smartphone. It has NFC, a powerful case and a 9,000 mAh battery, which should provide autonomous operation for several days. This combination of characteristics seemed interesting to us, so we decided to get to know the device better.

Specifications Poptel P9000 Max is not inferior to any smartphone in the middle price range. It is built on the basis of SoCMediaTek MT6750V, which was introduced almost two years ago, but is still actively used by Chinese manufacturers.
The smartphone came to us in a beautiful box of black cardboard. The name of the company and model is applied to its cover, and on the side there is a sticker with the main characteristics and IMEI of the device.Inside, in separate paper boxes, we found a charger, connecting cable, headphones and an adapter, with which you can recharge other gadgets. In addition, there is a protective film for the screen and a strange blue sticker, the purpose of which has remained a mystery to us.
The Poptel P9000 Max has a powerful LED flash, which successfully replaces a flashlight in field conditions. It is located on the back side, directly above the fingerprint scanner. In addition, there is a special bracket that allows you to tie a smartphone to your hand or backpack. A useful thing in the campaign, when a dropped smartphone can fly hundreds of meters down the hill.
Protected smartphones are designed not only for travelers , but also for people working in difficult conditions: geologists, builders, auto mechanics. “In life there is always a place for exploits,” we thought, and decided to arrange a test of beach vacation for Poptel P9000 Max.
Finally, on the way home, several times we intentionally dropped the phone on the asphalt. These were controlled falls from a height of about 1 meter, at which the possibility of landing on the screen was excluded. The case withstood these tests without damage, not counting a few minor scratches.
Screen and sound
The Poptel P9000 Max has a 5.5-inch screen with a resolution of 1 920 × 1 080 pixels. It is made by technology One Glass Solution (OGS). In this case, the sensory layer is combined with the screen, which allows achieving a small thickness and excellent visual characteristics.Due to the high pixel density, the picture looks just fine. The fonts are clear, the lines are smooth, the gradient transitions are correct. We did not have any comments on image clarity, color palette and white balance.
Poptel P9000 Max is equipped with a battery with a capacity of 9,000 mAh. In the PCMark Work 2.0 Battery Test, the smartphone lasted as long as 23 hours. Excellent result. Recall that all this time on the device worked a script that simulates the implementation of typical user tasks: surfing, working with images, editing documents, playing video and audio.
Smartphone Poptel P9000 Max will appeal primarily to those people who need a well-protected smartphone, not afraid of dust, dirt and water. From this point of view, the device fully met our expectations. The undoubted advantages of the Poptel P9000 Max can also include an excellent screen, long battery life and full support for NFC, which is still very rare in smartphones in this price category.
