The Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh Government on Friday announced that all Madrasas in the state would mandatorily have to be registered.
Issuing a direction in this regard, the UP Minority Affairs Minister Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary said that the Madrassas haven’t submitted any records for several years.
“There are some irregularities. We want Madrasas to submit a record of teachers and their qualifications”, Chaudhary said.
The minister then added, “Record should also be given of the students. We want Madrasas to produce engineers and doctors.”
In order to facilitate the Madrasa registration process, the UP government launched a portal.
All Madrasas, whether funded by the state government or not are bound to submit their details.
Meanwhile, a mobile application was also launched by state minister Mohsin Raza.
The move comes just about a week after the UP government issued a mandate to Madrasas in the state to sing the National Anthem and National Song while observing Independence Day and to submit visual proof of the same.
