Indian shuttler PV Sindhu has been recommended for the third highest civilian award, Padma Bhushan by the Sports Ministry on 25th September.
Earlier last year, she made India proud after bagging the silver medal at the Rio Olympics.
She lost narrowly to Carolina Marin in the finals.
It seems all her hard work is paying off after the Sports Ministry helmed by Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore recommended her for this prestigious award.
This decision comes after Singh Rathore, a former Olympian himself came to power. PV Sindhu is surely inspiring many Indians.
Sindhu, who recently became first Indian shuttler to lift Korea Open Super Series title, is now the second athlete after former Indian skipper MS Dhoni to be nominated for the award this year.
Sindhu joins the elite club comprising of Saina Nehwal and Pullela Gopichand.
In March 2015, Sindhu was conferred India’s fourth highest civilian honour – Padma Shri.
