Queensland braced for dangerous floods from Cyclone Debbie

Cyclone Debbie is expected to flood Australia’s 1300 km stretch of North-East coast prompting the PM Malcolm Turnbull to activate a disaster response plan. Cyclone Debbie has caused torrential rains and caused major damage rendering few thousands of homes without any power.

The expected or projected rainfall would be 250mm and people were requested to stay indoors and do not venture outside.

Cyclone Debbie made landfall between Bowen and Airlie Beach and placed under Cateory 4 Storm and has raced up to the speeds of  263km/h (163mph) is now moving inland as a tropical low storm.
