In an another remark about Rahul Gandhi’s image in the party, Delhi Pradesh Mahila Congress’s Head Barkha Singh has claimed that party vice-president Rahul Gandhi is “mentally unfit” to lead the Congress.
She also resigned from the post of Delhi Pradesh Mahila Congress’s Head.
She addressed a press conference at her residence in south Delhi and claimed that she had sent her resignation from the post of president of the Delhi Pradesh Mahila Congress to Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
Accusing Delhi Congress president Ajay Maken of misbehaving with her in 2016, she claimed that her complaints were regularly ignored by the party high command.
She claimed that “Last year, when byelections to 13 municipal wards happened, Mr. Maken misbehaved with me. I complained to the party leadership. Even a year after the incident, Mr. Gandhi hasn’t met me to hear me out.”
The former chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women and MLA for R.K. Puram Barkha claimed the party leadership hasn’t taken women’s security seriously despite espousing the cause in its manifestos and election campaigns.
She didn’t spare Rahul Gandhi as well and slammed him for lack of leadership.
She said: “Other Congress leaders in Delhi also feel that the party lacks leadership, but no one has come out to say it. I think he is mentally unfit to lead the party.”
