Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB) which holds the record for scoring the highest score in the IPL with 263/5 has created another record yesterday – this time for scoring the lowest score. Incidentally both the scores were made on the same day – 23rd April with highest score on 23rd April 2013 and lowest score on 23rd April 2017.
RCB was bowled out for 49 after they were asked to chase the total of 131 scored by Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR). Out of 49, 7 runs came from extras which was the joint 2nd highest score with Gayle. Kedar Jadhav scored 9 runs which was the team’s top score followed by 8 runs that was scored by AB deilliers and Stuart Binny.
Chris Woakes, Nathan Coulter-Nile and Coin de Grandhomme secured 3 wickets each for KKR.
RCB’s previous lowest score was against Rajasthan Royals where they scored 70 in 2014. Incidentally Rajasthan Royals had the record earlier for the lowest score in an IPL with 58 runs against RCB in Cape Town in 2009.
Sunil Narine was the top scorer for KKR yesterday with 34 runs.
