Recipe: Homestyle pani puru

Pani puri is on eof the most famous street food in India, and is loved by majority. The sweets, salty and sour taste make us feel energetic and relaxed. Most of us have relished pani puris since my childhood and love to binge on them especially during summers.

home style pani puriPani puris are a great snack, served as chat and found on roadside food carts all over India. They are served filled with spicy water, chickpeas and potatoes. If you wish to make these at home, try the recipe below:

1. In a shallow mixing bowl, add Sooji, Salt and Baking Powder. Mix well
2. Add warm water and soak the sooji
3. Sprinkle All-Purpose Flour and knead the sooji for 3-4 minutes until smooth and firm
4. Drizzle 1 tsp Oil and knead again for 3-4 minutes
5. Wrap dough in a plastic wrap and let it rest for 20 minutes. With 5 minutes left, start to heat oil for deep frying
6. Divide dough in small bits and roll out each puri or roll a big round and use a cookie cutter or other cutting device to cut round puris. Oiling rolling surface will make rolling easier
7. Deep fry puris until light golden brown and crisp
8. Prepare a mix of boiled potatoes, cooked chick peas, chopped onions, grated ginger garlic, salt, pepper, chilli powder, amchoor, coriander and lime juice
9. Stuff the mixture into the puris and finally pour jaljeera
10. Pani puri is all set to rock you
