Registrations open for the 13th edition of Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon 2016

Mumbai, Tuesday, 21st July, 2015: Procam International today announced the launch of the 13th edition of Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon 2016 (SCMM) which will be held on Sunday, 17th January, 2016. This watershed event has helped Indians break running ground since its inception thirteen seasons ago.

Registrations for the Full Marathon and DHL Corporate Champions will be open from today onwards. The physical modes of registration at Standard Chartered Bank branches will close on Saturday, 19th September, 2015 or when filled to capacity, whichever is earlier. Depending on the participation numbers, registrations through online applications and P.O Box entries for the Full Marathon will remain open until Saturday, 28th November, 2015 or when filled to capacity, whichever is earlier.

Registrations for the most awaited category, the Half Marathon will open from 10.00 am on Thursday, 30th July 2015 and close onSaturday, 28th August 2015 or when filled to capacity, whichever is earlier.

Registrations for the popular Dream Run will open from 10.00 am on Tuesday, 18th August 2015, and close on Friday, 21st August 2015, while registrations for the Senior Citizens’ Run and Champions with Disability will open on Monday, 24th August 2015, and close on Saturday, 19th September 2015, or when filled to capacity, whichever is earlier.

There are 4,500 running places on offer for the Full Marathon, while 15,000 places will be available for the Half Marathon. The Dream Run, including the DHL Corporate Champions, will accommodate 20,200 participants. 1500 entries will be permitted in the Senior Citizens’ Run300 entries for the Champions with Disability Event, putting the total number of entries accepted at 41,500.

Event Ambassador – John Abraham said, “The time has yet again come for all Mumbaikars to put their best foot forward and participate in one of the world’s top marathon events. I urge everyone to sign up, train well, go the distance and spread the message of health & fitness, communal harmony and charitable funding to the far corners of our country.”

Our constant endeavor to evolve and improve while providing the best possible running experience to each participant and in order to encourage the participation of serious runners in the full and half marathon, the event will only accept applications from runners who have attached a timing certificate from the previous sixteen months preceding race day.

Applicants, who do not fall within the timed runner criteria, can avail the running places allotted to the NGOs registered with United Way of Mumbai, the event’s official philanthropy partner. These running places will be available through different NGOs at a premium from 11th August, 2015.

Confirmed applicants of the full and half marathon, will also be eligible for priority line up on race day, based on their finish times as submitted in their timing certificate.

The full marathon runners will be prioritized in four line up sections on race day as per the timing certificate submitted along with their applications, namely under 4 hours 13 minutes; 4 hours 13 minutes to under 4 hours 55 minutes; 4 hours 55 minutes to under 5 hours 37 minutes and 5 hours 37 minutes and above.

The half marathon will be prioritized in seven line up sections on race day as per their timing certificates submitted during registration, namely under 1 hour 25 minutes; 1 hour 25 minutes to under 1 hour 46 minutes; 1 hour 46 minutes to under 2 hours; 2 hours to under 2 hours 12 minutes; 2 hours 12 minutes to under 2 hours 30 minutes; 2 hours 30 minutes to under 2 hours 55 minutes and 2 hours 55 minutes and above.

Duly filled entry forms with the requisite entry fee can be mailed to P.O Box No. 11017, Marine Lines Post Office, Mumbai 400 020
Mumbai residents can also deposit their entry forms with the requisite entry fees at 10 select Standard Chartered Bank branches, details of which are available on the event website.
Entry forms will also be available at select Standard Chartered Bank branches in Mumbai, at the Asian Heart Institute in Bandra Kurla Complex, and the United Way of Mumbai office at 309 Nirman Kendra Premises Co-op Society Ltd., Dr. E Moses Road, Mahalaxmi Estate
