In the deteriorating political situation in Kerala, another RSS worker was stabbed to death today. Earlier also, several RSS workers have been killed in political violence. It is being alleged that today’s killing was carried out by members of the ruling Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Kerala. RSS worker Vadekkethala Anandan was 28 years old and he was killed today in Nenmini, which is located near to the temple town of Guruvayur. Anandan was riding his motorbike when the killers waylaid him and stabbed him to death. Sources said that this was a revenge killing in retaliation to the murder of CPI(M) member Mohammed Kasim. The murder of Mohammed Kasim took place around five months back. Anandan was allegedly involved in the murder of Mohammed Kasim, which is why his murder today is being termed as a revenge killing.
Anandan was out on bail and the assailants appeared to know his movements. Responding to the gruesome murder of Anandan, the RSS-BJP have called for a bandh tomorrow in the temple town Guruvayur. Police are currently investigating the case and said that the car used by the attackers have been identified. Fearing more violence, security has been beefed up in the area. Meanwhile, the CPI(M) has denied its role in the killing. Speaking about the incident, State BJP president Kummanam Rajasekharan said, “The latest killing again exposed the criminal face of the CPI(M). It never believed in democracy and annihilation of political rivals is the trademark of the party.”
