Security forces have increased security around the Dera Sacha Sauda headquarters near Sirsa town after the Punjab and Haryana High Court ordered search operations at the premises of the religious organization. The court has appointed retired District and Sessions Judge A.K.S. Pawar as the Court Commissioner to oversee the search and sanitize operations at the Dera headquarters. The local administration and security forces are now waiting for Pawar to arrive to begin the search operations. Dera premises are spread across two campuses. One of the campuses is 600 acres whereas the second campus is 100 acres. These campuses are located around eight km from the town of Sirsa.
The sprawling Dera headquarters is home to a stadium, hospital, educational institutions, a resort, houses, markets, and other infrastructure. The campus also has huge bungalows of the sect chief and their family members. Armed security personnel have been deployed around the Dera headquarters to prevent any nuisance by Dera followers. Bomb disposal squads and sniffer dogs have also been called to deal with any emergency situation. Everything has been kept ready and now all teams are waiting for Court Commissioner Pawar to arrive. Meanwhile, Dera management said that it will fully cooperate with the search operations ordered by the court. They said that they have nothing to hide.
