As all political parties shed their differences and jointly condemned Pakistan’s decision to award the death penalty to Kulbhushan Jadhav, there was another development that caught everyone’s attention. After Sushma Swaraj warned Pakistan that its decision would hurt bilateral ties, she walked up to Congress Member of Parliament Shashi Tharoor and requested him to draft a resolution against Pakistan on Kulbhushan Jadhav. The draft will be adopted by both the houses of the Parliament.
A former United Nations diplomat, Shashi Tharoor gladly accepted to work on the draft resolution. However, he sought permission from his party’s leader in the house Mallikarjun Kharge before giving his approval. Tharoor said that it was a matter that affected everyone in the country, which is why he is willing to work on the draft response. The draft resolution will condemn Pakistan’s decision and inform the international community about the false stories being propagated by Pakistan. Sushma Swaraj said that Pakistan was just trying to present India in a negative way among the international community.
