Indian star shuttler PV Sindhu has bowed out of Asian Championships. Sindhu,seeded fourth in the tournament, lost in 1 hour and 17 minutes by a score of 21-15, 14-21, 22-24 against her eighth-seeded Chinese opponent He Bingjiao in the quarter-finals. The Chinese now leads the tally by 5-3. It is to be noted that Sindhu had won her during their last clash.
With the defeat, India’s only hope for the medal in the tournament came to an end. In the final sets, Sindhu equalled her opponent at 16-16 and later on at 19-19, 20-20 and 21-21. Later, she even went ahead of the game leading at 22-21 but ailed to capitalise on it turning it into a victory.
Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal made an early exit of this tournament already. A win in this game would have actually assured a Bronze Medal for Sindhu which has now become a dream.
