A six-year-old boy of Mumbai’s Pawar Public School died on Thursday after collapsing in the school corridor while playing.
The incident happened during a short break in the morning, around 10:00 a.m.
The class 1 student, identified as Swarang Dalvi, was playing with his friends during the short break.
Swarang’s classmates informed the school authorities and took him to the medical room in the school from where he was taken to the hospital as he was not responding to the first aid given to him at the school.
Swarang was rushed to the nearby Hiranandani Hospital and he was declared dead on arrival.
Swarang had no medical history and looked fine in the morning, the shocked school officials said that CCTV footage shows that student fell unconscious suddenly.
“It is extremely shocking for all of us. The child was studying with us for four years and we remember him as a very enthusiastic boy,” said Principal Phalke.
The Police is conducting an investigation.
“We have registered an Accidental Death Report and we have sent the body for post-mortem,” Navinchandra Reddy, DCP said.
