Smartphones running on these 7 Operating systems will lose WhatsApp support

Early last year ,Facebook owned by WhatsApp announced that it will stop supporting smart phones running on some old versions of mobile operating systems after Dec 2016.

Later it was extended to June 30, 2017.

WhatsApp said in a blog post “While these mobile devices have been an important part of our story, they don’t offer the kind of capabilities we need to expand our app’s features in the future.”

Here is the list of Mobile OSes that will lose WhatsApp support after June 30.

Blackberry OS:

The first in the list is Blackberry OS and it was launched in 1999. Blackberry 5810 is designed especially blackberry line of smartphones, the OS was known for its secure corporate email system. In 2012 the OS was replaced with new OS Blackberry 10.

Blackberry 10:

The next on the list is Blackberry 10. The company launched the Blackberry 10 OS in 2013.

Nokia S40:

Phones running on Nokia Series 40 OS too will lose support for WhatsApp by the end of this month. This includes Nokia 206 single SIM, Nokia 206 dual-SIM, Nokia 208, Nokia 301, Nokia 515, Nokia Asha 201, Nokia Asha 205, Nokia Asha 210, Nokia Asha 230, Nokia Asha 230, Nokia Asha 300, Nokia Asha 302, Nokia Asha 303, Nokia Asha 305, Nokia Asha 306, Nokia Asha 308, Nokia Asha 309, Nokia Asha 310, Nokia Asha 311, Nokia Asha 500, Nokia Asha 501, Nokia Asha 502, Nokia Asha 503, Nokia C3-00, Nokia C3-01, Nokia X2-00, Nokia X2-01, Nokia X3-02, Nokia X3-02.5.

Nokia Symbian S60:

Whatsapp will stop supporting for Nokia Symbian S60 as well.

Windows phone 7:

All those with a phone running windows phone 7 will lose WhatsApp support on their device post June 30.

Android 2.1 & 2.2:

Two android versions of the world most popular Android OS too are in the list.
