South Africa also dominated the top bowler and batsman rankings in ICC cricket rankings. South Africa’s spinner Imran Tahir is now the top bowler, as per ICC cricket rankings in ODIs. In the list of top batsmen, South Africa’s AB de Villiers now holds the second spot in ICC cricket rankings in ODIs. South Africa’s recent climb in the ICC cricket rankings is due to their current performance against Sri Lanka, wherein they won the ODI series by 5-0. Earlier, Sri Lanka was beaten in the test series 3-0 by South Africa. Sri Lanka captain Upul Tharanga said that their current team has young players who need to learn a lot.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli is now positioned at the 3rd spot in ICC cricket rankings in ODIs. He has also delivered a good performance in the series against Bangladesh, which helped him reach the third spot. Kohli is now third, next to number one David Warner from Australia and number two AB de Villiers from South Africa. Kohli said that the credit for his stupendous performance goes to his captaincy. He said that he shares a great responsibility as the team’s captain, which leaves no room for complacency or errors. Kohli also talked about his extreme fitness regime, saying that his fitness has also helped him register top scores in recent times.
