Today (09.03.15) marks the start of the Government’s National Apprenticeship Week 2015 which aims to increase awareness and take-up of apprenticeships and traineeships across the UK. Govan-based Rearo employs eight New Modern Apprentices throughout its network of seven showrooms across the UK.
This week it was the turn of the company’s Glasgow factory to celebrate the success of apprentices, Scott Adams, Andrew McGill and Rhys Todd, who received their SVQ Modern Apprenticeship Warehouse and Storage Level 2 Certificates, which are approved by the SQA (Scottish Qualifications Authority).
They are pictured here with Managing Director, Graham Mercer and Production Factory Manager Robert Bennett. All three apprentices have been offered full-time jobs with Rearo and will continue to benefit from the training and development that the company offers.
Graham Mercer comments: “We are committed to building a strong, flexible and skilled workforce. Our apprentices are a vital part of this ambition: we give them the chance to learn on the job, receive invaluable practical experience and work towards an industry-recognised vocational qualification. In return, we get employees who we hope will be central to the future of our business.”
