Supreme Court orders Search Engines Google, Yahoo and Microsoft’s Bing to employ in-house expert body to eliminate advertisements linked to sex-determination tests banned by law. Court said they can’t disrupt country’s law and they must need to follow the Indian law. It is blamed search engines are not doing reasonable acts to end these advertisements.
These companies in return told to court they admire Indian laws and they do not break Indian laws. Also they opposed against the order on putting in-house expert committees to track violations citing that this will create enormous problem to them.
Court also explained how decline in sex ratio is increasing in India and during 2001 and 2011 the drop was seen in more than two-thirds of the districts of the country. In cities numbers were further declined, in 2011, the Delhi was having lowest child sex ratios among other states with girls 871 born compare to 1,000 boys.
