In a suspected terror attack outside the U.K. parliament on Wednesday, five people including a police officer lost their lives and twenty people reportedly injured. The attacker was shot dead by the Scotland Yard officers. The U.K. parliament was locked down after the attack.
The witnesses claimed that the attacker struck several people using a vehicle on the Westminster Bridge. The attacker also stabbed one police officer. London Police said they were treating the attack as a “terrorist incident until we know otherwise”.
Prime Minister Theresa May has claimed that the U.K. won’t change terror threat level after attack which has been on ‘severe’ for some time now.
The Prime Minister was in the House of Commons complex during the attack, delivering answers to her weekly Prime Minister’s Questions. She was seen quickly being huddled up in a car and driven away to Downing Street.
After the incident, May claimed that “The location of this attack was no accident. The terrorists chose to strike at the heart of our Capital City, where people of all nationalities, religions and cultures come together to celebrate the values of liberty, democracy and freedom of speech”.
