Swaraj India has kicked off its campaigning for the Delhi civic polls, which are likely to be held in April. A massive rally was organized at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi, where Swaraj India president Yogendra Yadav targeted the center, the AAP government and the three municipal bodies controlled by BJP. Yadav said that all these people have failed in providing the right governance to the people of Delhi. Swaraj India released its agenda for the Delhi civic polls, which covers eleven broad areas including youths and employment, safety of women, liquor and addiction, sanitation, problems related to rural Delhi, street vendors, J J Colony, unauthorized colonies, auto and taxi transport, and contract employees.
Swaraj India also reiterated its mission to eliminate corruption and end the prevalence of inspector raj. The party plans to choose honest people at the top, something that would help eliminate corruption. Swaraj India pointed out to the various existing problems such as no action on demands of contract teachers, lack of proper development in outer Delhi, inaction on authorization of unauthorized colonies, sanitation and cleanliness issues, rising pollution levels, etc.
Swaraj India targeted the AAP, saying that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has failed to deliver the promises he made to the people of Delhi. During the rally, a symbolic “no confidence motion” was passed against the Center, the AAP government, and the three MCDs – East Delhi Municipal Corporation, South Delhi Municipal Corporation and North Delhi Municipal Corporation.
