Unable to cope up with their problems, a group of Tamil Nadu farmers took the extreme step of going naked in protest. The farmers went naked in protest in front of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and demanded that their agricultural farm loans should be waived off. They were hopeful that the central government will look into their problems and resolve them in a positive manner. However, since the act of going naked is against the tenets of a civilized society, the naked farmers were removed from the area by security forces.
It may be recalled that the Tamil Nadu farmers have been protesting at Jantar Mantar in Delhi for the last three weeks. Earlier, they tried to get the attention of central government by using skulls of farmers who had died due to poverty. Today, they went a step ahead by going naked in front of PMO’s office. The farmers said that they will take even more extreme measures to get their voices heard. The farmers have received promises of support from several leaders, but concrete action is yet to be taken.
