Police in London have come to a conclusion that the incident that happened in the early hours of Monday morning at the Finsbury Park Mosque in north London were a Van hit innocent pedestrians was an act of terrorism.
Police say one man was pronounced dead at scene. Eight people have been taken to three hospitals. The road were the attack took place was “backed up” with police cars, ambulance and fire engines.
Authorities have arrested the van driver who is a 48 year old man. The police believes that the man was alone in the van however eyewitness say that three people exit the vehicle, two of whom fled.
London Mayor Sadiq Khan in a statement said, Extra police are being deployed to reassure communities, especially those observing Ramadan.
Many of the victims are believed to have just left evening prayers at the Muslim Welfare House after breaking the Ramadan fast.
