A former US Navy Seal has, for the first time, provided detailed description about how he killed the dreaded terrorist Osama Bin Laden, the chief of Al Qaida. Laden was the mastermind of 9/11 attacks in the United States, in which, the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York were completely demolished when terrorists hijacked two planes and flew them into the buildings with the passengers onboard. The attack killed 2,996 people and there were around 6,000 people injured. Damage to property and infrastructure was $10 billion and total cost was more than $3 trillion.
The former US Navy Seal, Robert O’Neill, says in his book that he fired two shots at Laden, which split open his head. Laden was gunned down when he was hiding at a secure compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan. It is said that even Pakistani security agencies were not informed about the action being taken by US Navy Seals.
An extract from the book named ‘The Operator’ reads, “Osama bin Laden stood near the entrance at the foot of the bed, taller and thinner than I’d expected his beard shorter and hair whiter. He had a woman in front of him, his hands on her shoulders. In less than a second, I aimed above the woman’s right shoulder and pulled the trigger twice. Bin Laden’s head split open and he dropped. I put another bullet in his head. Insurance.”
