The Kodanad Estate which is owned by late CM of Tamilnadu Jayalalithaa is in the news for the past 1 week. This is one of the favourite summer retreat place for her during the time she was alive. The place is spread over 900 acres of land with a posh palatial bungalow set up amidst this.
The bungalow is believed to be the place where expensive jewels and lot of documents related to Jayalalithaa’s properties were said to be stocked. In a bizzare incident few days back, it saw the brutal murder of a watchman who was guarding one of the 9 gates that leads to the entry of this estate where as another watchman was grievously injured. It is to be noted here that the State Government has deployed security fearing an attack like this in all the gates, after the demise of Jayalalithaa.
There were a total of 6 prime suspects identified by the police in this case. One of them was Kanagaraj who served as a driver for Jayalalithaa in Poes Garden from 2008-2013. He is believed to be related to the present CM of Tamilnadu Shri.Edapaddi K Palanisamy.
Beind named as Prime Suspect No.1, he got killed day before yesterday in a road accident in Attur. When this happened, simultaneously, another prime suspect K.V.Sayan got seriously injured as his car is believed to have ht the parked lorry from behind near Palakkad killing his wife and daughter on the spot.
These bizzare incidents has deepened the plot and has made the case even more complicated since not much was known as to how much of expensive jewels and documents were robbed from the estate.
