on ‘Cultivating Peace & Compassion’ by His Holiness The Dalai Lama
New Delhi, 21st March 2015: In its constant endeavor to offer experiences that are exclusive and uniquely treasured, The Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi was privileged to conduct Teachings by His Holiness for the fourth consecutive year.
The annual teachings were spread over three days comprising of various sessions along with an exclusive session for school children onCultivating Peace & Compassion, which was held on Friday, 20th March at Diwan-I-Am. His Holiness used excerpts from the text ‘Fundamentals of Wisdom’ by Acharya Nagarjuna, an Indian Buddhist philosopher, primarily explaining the doctrine of emptiness –Sunyata, during this thought provoking session.
The tranquil morning witnessed the presence of over 200 students from 16 prominent schools across Delhi-NCR, Kashmir and Tibet including eminent names likes Delhi Public School, Blue Bells, St. Mary, GD Goenka, Springdales, The Sriram School, Salwan Public School amongst others. High school students were present for the session where His Holiness shed light on genuine compassion – unbiased and unattached, based on wanting others to be happy and overcome sufferings. He also highlighted religious values, equality amongst human beings as well as various cultural philosophies. The interactive session saw participation from the enthusiastic young guests who were eager to grasp knowledge from the enlightening session.
The Foundation for Universal Responsibility of His Holiness The Dalai Lama and The Taj Mahal Hotel in collaboration with Tibetian Medical & Astro. Institute will also host exclusive sessions by Menpa (doctor) Tsewang Tamdin to share the ancient wisdom of health at the hotel. Menpa Tsewang Tamdin is a lineage holder of the traditional Tibetan integrated medical system and a visiting physician to His Holiness The Dalai Lama since 14 years. He has visited various cities in India as well as in USA, Australia and European countries like Great Britain, Switzerland, Holland, Poland, Ireland, France, Germany, etc for conferences, medical consultations, lectures and exhibitions on traditional Tibetan Medicine over the past decades.
