In a praiseworthy initiative, a petrol pump in Bengaluru is offering free food to consumers who stop over to refuel.
Beginning this week, the Venkateshwara Service Station close to Indiranagar RTO on Old Madras Road will launch the initiative in association with the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC).
The reason behind this projectis to give relief to the thousands of Bengalurueans, who spend a considerable time on roads due to heavy traffic.
Many skips their breakfast or meals just to arrive at their destination on time, hence risking their health.
The project will aid Bengalureans, who are short on time, in taking care of their gastronomical health according to reports.
As per Prakash Rao, the proprietor of the 48-year-old service station, meals will be available 24X7.
People who will stop over at the petrol pump to refuel can get vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian varieties of breakfast, meals or snacks.
“Whether one has a time or not, all people will definitely stop over at a petrol pump to refuel. We will work during those few minutes to fill their stomach. In fact, our tagline is ‘U fill Ur Tank! V Fill Ur Tummy!’ In less than two to five minutes, their desired choice of food will be packed and given to customers who can enjoy it at their leisure,” Rao told.
“Food items will be cooked at a centralised kitchen elsewhere and stored at the petrol pump where it will be heated and served. For all the bakery products, we have tied up with Iskcon. Experienced chefs are involved in the preparation of food. For those who do not want to buy fuel, can also pack the food after they pay a prescribed amount,” Rao added.
